Tanka Monday 2023 Registration

Tanka Monday 2023 Registration

For Tanka Monday 2023, registration is FREE to everyone, but donations are welcome at the event or beforehand. Although registration is free, we ask you to please register by June 15, 2023. After this date, please email us to let us know you’re coming, and then register at the door. We want to know how many people to expect and need to make your name badge and registration packet, so please register as early as you can.

The attendee list provided in your registration packet will include your name and city/state, and country if outside North America (not your full address). We’ll also include your email address unless, when you register, you request that it be omitted. Please also note that this is an in-person event only (no Zoom options).

To Register

To register, whether you’re a Tanka Society of America member or not, please fill out the online registration form. It will help us plan better if you register by June 15, 2023 (after this date, you can still register using the form and also still attend by registering at the door, but please also email us to let us know youre coming). If you have problems with the form, please contact Michael Dylan Welch at WelchM@aol.com.

Membership is not required to attend, but if you’re not a TSA member, we invite you to visit our How to Join or Renew page.

Questions?

If you have registration questions, or if you have questions about the conference, or want to propose a presentation, workshop, or reading, please contact Michael Dylan Welch at WelchM@aol.com.

Accommodations

We highly recommend staying at the conference hotel, the Netherland Plaza Hotel, for at least the Sunday night. See the HNA accommodations page (follow the instructions there rather than contacting the hotel in any other way). Our conference rate, courtesy of the Haiku North America conference, is $135.00 plus tax per night. Book early to make sure rooms are still available.

Tanka Handouts

It’s common at tanka meetings like Tanka Monday to prepare a trifold or other handout showcasing your tanka to share or trade with others. We anticipate about 50 attendees, if that helps you decide how many copies to make (we will know more definite numbers closer to the event date).

Haiku North America Conference

If you are interested in attending the Haiku North America conference from June 28 to July 2, 2023, immediately prior to Tanka Monday (tanka events will be from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on July 3, plus readings or some other activity the evening before), please visit Haiku North America for more information. Our gratitude to HNA and to the Mercantile Library for helping to make Tanka Monday happen!
