a busker’s
tin whistle echoes
off the subway walls—
my footfalls merge
with each chipped tile
American Tanka #26, February 2016
I grab
that brass ring
on the carousel . . .
summer memories
spin out again
Presence #73, July 2022
a sliver moon
pierces velvet dusk . . .
the rawness
of our argument
scours my heart
