Tanka Monday 2019 Transportation
Here are some tips to help you with your travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and our conference hotel, the Hawthorne Inn and Conference Center, located at 420 High Street SW, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. See also the Haiku North America Travel Info page for additional details and recommendations.
By Air
We recommend flying into the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) in Greensboro, North Carolina, less than 30 miles from the hotel. To get from the Greensboro airport to the hotel, you can book a shuttle through the airport’s Ground Transportation page (a shuttle or taxi should cost around $40 to $50 each way). We also recommend Airport Connection Express (ACE Transport). Visit the website or call 336-995-4450 (ask for their rate, and depending what they say, consider asking for the Hawthorne discount, which should be $49 one way, or $45 each way round-trip; the rate may be a little cheaper if several people are going to the same location together).
A second airport option is the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina, about 85 miles from the hotel. To get from Charlotte, find more information on their Ground Transportation page.
A third airport option, about 95 miles away (about one and a half to two hours’ drive), is the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). See its Ground Transportation page for help with transportation options.
